Let's Talk About Gas Prices
Gasoline Prices
There are a lot of folks who voted for Donald Trump and the Republican ticket because they want cheap gas. The thing is, a U.S. President has very little control over retail gas prices, unlike the leaders of Saudi Arabia and Russia with State-run energy companies. Yes, our President can relax environmental protections, offer more leases for drilling/fracking, allow more pipelines, but who really thinks the oil companies are going to do more work for less profit? If the prices are lower, that's less profit. The only thing that will bring down prices consistently is less demand, here is more (non-partisan) information.

The Numbers:
Average During 1st Trump Administration: $2.51/gallon
National Average Price Last Week: $3.11/gallon +24%
National Average Gas Today: $3.08/gallon -1%
Price Last Paid in Central PA Red State: $3.36/gallon 9% higher than the national average
Trump's promise to reduce energy costs within 12 months are quite unlikely to happen.
The only proven method of reducing energy costs is by cutting demand. I support increasing the usage of electric and hybrid vehicles. How can you cut your energy consumption to affect prices?
